What is Tools & Tiaras?
Tools & Tiaras is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that exposes, inspires, and mentors girls ages 6–17 into careers in the skilled trades and STEAM fields. We run free monthly Saturday workshops year-round and a weeklong Summer Construction Skills Camp in New York City. Our trademarked motto is Jobs Don’t Have Genders®.
Who founded Tools & Tiaras?

Tools & Tiaras was founded by Judaline Cassidy, a 30-year NYC union plumber (UA Local Union No. 1) and the first woman elected to the Examining Board of Plumbers Local No. 1. Judaline is a CNN Champion for Change, a L’Oréal Paris Women of Worth honoree, and an ENR Award of Excellence recipient.

Tools & Tiaras was founded in 2017.

Where is Tools & Tiaras based?
We are based in New York City and our programs are held across NYC, including Jamaica, Queens and Industry City, Brooklyn.

Is Tools & Tiaras a registered nonprofit?
Yes. Tools & Tiaras Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Programs and Workshops
​
What programs do you offer?
We run two core programs:
​
• Monthly Saturday Workshop, Free, year-round workshops where girls learn hands-on skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, welding, and auto mechanics, led by professional tradeswomen.
​
• Summer Construction Skills Camp, A weeklong day camp where girls dive deeper into the trades, build real projects, and meet women working in the field.
​
What ages can participate?
Our programs are designed for girls ages 6–17.
​
What trades will my daughter learn?
​
Girls explore carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, welding, and auto mechanics, plus the history of the trades and the role tradeswomen play in shaping society. Every workshop is taught by a woman with deep professional experience in her trade.

Where do workshops and camp take place?
Workshops and camp are held in New York City, with Summer Construction Skills Camp sessions running in July and August each year. Visit our Enroll Now page for the current season’s dates and locations.
How often are the monthly workshops?
Once a month, on a Saturday. We schedule them on weekends so girls don’t miss school or weekday activities. Subscribe to our mailing list for upcoming dates.

Are the workshops free?
​
Yes, our monthly Saturday workshops are free for every girl who walks through the door. Keeping them free is only possible because of donors and partners who believe in this mission. If our work moves you, please consider making a tax-deductible donation, any amount helps us cover tools, materials, meals, and gear for the next girl. Summer Camp has a fee (see below) but scholarships are always available.

What’s provided at workshops and camp?
​
We provide everything girls need to participate:
​
• Breakfast, lunch, and snacks
• A T-shirt
• All workshop materials and tools
• At camp, every girl also receives a hard hat, safety glasses, and work gloves to take home.
Do I need to bring anything?
​
Just your daughter, dressed in closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothes she can move and build in. We provide the rest.

Enrollment and Cost
​
How does my daughter sign up?
​
Visit our Enroll Now page to submit an application. Camp is by application only. You’ll receive an acceptance notification by email.
How much does Summer Camp cost?
• Registration fee: $150
• Per participant: $450
• Daily rate: $100

Are scholarships available?
​
Yes. If the cost is a barrier, please don’t be discouraged, apply for our scholarship. We never want money to keep a girl out of our programs. Note the scholarship request on your application or contact us.
What is the refund policy for camp?
​
Deposits are refundable up to two weeks before your chosen camp session begins.
When will I hear back after I apply?
Acceptance notifications are sent by email. Apply as early as possible, sessions fill up quickly.

Are donations tax-deductible?
​
Yes. Tools & Tiaras Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

What does my donation pay for?

Your donation directly funds:
​
• Free monthly workshops in carpentry, electrical, welding, and plumbing for girls and women in New York City
• The weeklong Summer Construction Skills Camp for approximately 60 girls
• Scholarships for families who need help with camp costs
• Tools, safety gear, materials, meals, and t-shirts for every participant.
Can my company sponsor Tools & Tiaras?
